The JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) splits vocabulary into five tiers, easiest to hardest: N5 (~800 words) covers survival-level basics — greetings, numbers, common objects. N4 (~1,500 words) adds everyday conversation vocabulary. N3 (~3,750 words) is the functional-fluency tier most learners aim for. N2 (~6,000 words) is required for many Japanese work visas and university programs. N1 (10,000+ words) covers near-native vocabulary, including abstract and specialized terms.
Pick a level, choose a direction (Japanese→English or English→Japanese), and start drilling with Study, Quiz, or Type mode.
