How to use this sheet

Each row shows a hiragana character to trace twice, followed by three blank boxes to write it from memory. Work through one row at a time rather than tracing the whole sheet in one pass — trying to cover all 46 characters in a single sitting is one of the most common mistakes new learners make, and it teaches your hand to copy shapes rather than recall them.

A dry-erase marker over a laminated copy lets you reuse the same sheet indefinitely instead of reprinting it each session.

Pair it with active recall

Handwriting builds muscle memory, but it won't tell you if you'd still recognize a character out of order. After tracing a row, test yourself in Quiz mode to confirm it actually stuck. For general study strategy, see Learning Tips, or keep the basic hiragana chart nearby as a reference while you write.
