わ Stroke order

Hiragana Final Characters stroke order: わ を ん

わ, を and ん close out the 46. わ, れ and ね all start with the same tall vertical stroke, and only the second stroke tells them apart. ん is a single stroke, and を is three. It is the busiest-looking of the three but follows the usual top-to-bottom order.

Final Characters characters

(wa) 2 strokes

  1. 1
  2. 2

The tall vertical first, then a stroke that zig-zags and finishes in a wide open curve.

(wo) 3 strokes

  1. 1
  2. 2
  3. 3

The crossbar first, then the zig-zag through it, then the curved bottom stroke.

(n) 1 stroke

  1. 1

One stroke: down to the left, back up, then a dip and a tail to the right.

Common mistakes

The mistake with this group is usually about how strokes end, not their order. わ, れ and ね all open with the same tall vertical, and the second stroke decides which character you wrote: a wide open curve for わ, a kick out to the right for れ, a small closed loop for ね. Rush that ending and your reader has to guess. を trips people up because its middle stroke looks like two pieces. It is one movement: down, a sharp turn, and across. ん is a single stroke too. Writing it as two separate pieces, a slash and then a tail, is the most common reason it comes out looking wrong.
